From Writing to Jewelry Creation
For Richard, creativity seems to strike by accident. He stumbled into jewelry making after reading about a young woman who began crafting beads during the COVID-19 pandemic. This sparked his curiosity, and soon enough, Richard was knee-deep in beads from the famous Paris flea markets.
Despite having zero experience, Richard taught himself the art of jewelry-making with guidance from a talented designer friend. After weeks of practice, he found himself passionately creating and, in no time, he amassed over 200 pieces of jewelry! Not one to let his creations go unseen, Richard exhibited his work on his website and even hosted intimate showings in both Paris and New York.

Passion Meets Practicality
Richard’s ability to pursue varied creative ventures, from food tours to photography, is underpinned by a quest for novelty and inspiration. He thrives on keeping his mind fresh and active, traveling globally to collect unique beads and incorporating diverse influences into his designs.
Interestingly, he credits his partner, Vincent, a creative director, with having the final say on his jewelry designs. Richard values Vincent’s keen eye for art, making their creative collaboration both personal and professional.

A Creative Lure in Paris
With nearly two decades in Paris under his belt, Richard relishes the city’s endless infusion of fresh experiences and artistic inspiration—from its vibrant street scenes to its rich array of museums and cultural events. He offers guided tours of Paris, encouraging visitors to explore lesser-known neighborhoods and embrace the slower pace of authentic Parisian life.

Navigating the business side of creative ventures can be daunting, yet Richard has leveraged his background in retail from an early age to skillfully market his creativity. He uses blog platforms like Substack to share his Parisian discoveries, culinary delights, and artistic ventures, all accompanied by his stunning photography.
