Le Monde and Cartooning for Peace: Defending the Freedom of Expression
Maite spent 12 years working at Le Monde, where she worked with journalists and renowned political cartoonist Plantu. Alongside Plantu, and in collaboration with the Institut Français and Cartooning for Peace, Maite traveled the world attending workshops and conferences in schools and universities to advocate for freedom of expression through political cartoons and showcasing the power of creativity in addressing global issues. When the COVID-19 pandemic happened to align with Plantu’s retirement, Maite decided it was time to pursue her dream of being an artist.
